What to expect
El Born: second breakfast, Catalan style
The tour starts seated at a family-run restaurant that has fed this neighborhood since the 1960s. Cava arrives first, because in Catalonia it works at any hour and always has, alongside Spanish tortilla and a toast with chocolate, olive oil, and salt. Sweet, savory, and slightly surprising together. Your guide will return to that idea of contrast all morning. Then you make your own pan con tomate.
Stop for something sweet: homemade turrón since 1890
The specialty at your next stop is turrón, almond nougat made to a recipe older than most of the buildings outside. You’ll also try polvorones, another famous sweet, or horchata in summer. The shop has been on this corner for over a century and shows no sign of reconsidering.
Dietary Needs: Please let us know about your dietary needs when you book. We can adapt the tour for vegetarians, pescatarians, pregnant guests, and those with dairy-free requirements or non-celiac gluten sensitivities. See the FAQs for more details.
"Ramón's family has been at that stall for sixty years. When we walk in, they're already setting up for us."
