What to expect
Casa Batlló: a marriage of art and engineering
We’ll start at Casa Batlló, with its sinuous, skeletal façade. On the 9am tour, you’ll step inside to see how Gaudi flooded the house with light and character. Your guide will talk you through the home’s distinct sections, topped by the shimmering scales of the iconic dragon-shaped roof.
Casa Milà: a lava-like flow of stone and iron
Then it’s on to nearby Casa Milà with its self-supporting stone façade. Known locally as La Pedrera (the stone quarry), the building has been home to princes, industrialists, psychics, and spies. Your guide will give you the insider info before you hop on a private minibus for a short ride to Park Güell (am) or on the Metro just one stop to Casa Vicens (pm).
“I never tire of the way Gaudi mixes nature with engineering, beauty with function.”
Monste,
WalksDevour guide and art lover
