What to expect
The Gothic Quarter: Roman walls under a medieval city
You'll start on foot in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, where the medieval city sits on top of the Roman one. Your guide will take you through Plaça Sant Felip Neri (where you can still see the marks the Civil War left on the church walls), past surviving stretches of the Roman city wall, and into the small plazas the day-trippers walk past.
Montjuïc and the cable car: the city, the port, and the Mediterranean in one ride
Then it's onto the cable car for a one-way ride over Montjuïc Hill, with 360-degree views of the skyline, the port, and the Mediterranean coast. Your guide will point out the Sagrada Familia, the Tibidabo mountain, and the line where the old city ends and the modernist grid begins. A private minibus carries you up to Montjuïc and on to Park Güell, so the only transport you'll think about all day is the cable car.
"Most groups visit the Sagrada Familia in the morning when the blue light comes through. We go in the afternoon. The whole basilica turns orange."

"The Sagrada Familia became the tallest church in the world in 2025, and they're still building. Every visit, there's something new above us."
