What to expect
The welcome
You'll step into a private kitchen at the Rome Cooking School in Trastevere, where a glass of prosecco and a spread of aperitivi are waiting. Your chef, a local who lives and breathes Roman cooking, sets a relaxed, one-on-one tone for the afternoon. With the kitchen yours alone, there's no rushing and no audience.
Pasta by your own hands
Then you get to work: mixing, kneading, and shaping fresh pasta the way it's been done for generations. You'll make two pastas and two sauces under the chef's guidance, tasting as you go and hearing the stories behind each dish. By the end you'll understand why handmade pasta is worth the effort.
"People are nervous about the dough, then twenty minutes in their hands just know what to do. Watching that click, and then watching them eat it, never gets old."
Luca,
WalksDevour chef
"We've taught pasta to thousands of guests over the years. The private class is for people who want that, but with the chef entirely to themselves."
Roberto,
WalksDevour cooking school manager
