What to expect
Notre-Dame Cathedral: 850 years of stone, glass, and firelight
Your guide meets you on the parvis, in the shadow of the western façade, and sets the scene before you step inside. Over the next 90 minutes, you'll move through the nave, past the choir, and beneath the three rose windows that have survived wars, revolutions, and the 2019 fire. Your guide explains what was lost, what was saved, and how centuries of craftsmanship have been brought back into the light.
Île de la Cité: the island where Paris started
From the cathedral, your group sets off along the narrow streets that make up the oldest part of Paris. You'll pass the gothic exterior of Sainte-Chapelle, the Conciergerie where prisoners once scratched their names into cell walls, and the Hôtel-Dieu, one of the oldest hospitals in Europe. Along the way, medieval kings share the same streets as the booksellers who still line the riverbank today.
"Stop beneath the south rose window when the light is right. The colors land on the stone floor. That's my favorite moment."

"Last week I spotted a face carved into a column I must have walked past a hundred times. This island still surprises me."
