The Gladiator's Gate and the arena floor: where 50,000 once watched
Your guide will lead you through the Gladiator's Gate, the same passage the fighters used to enter the arena, and out onto the reconstructed wooden floor. The stands rise around you in four tiers. As you stand on the level where the games were fought, your guide will walk you through how they were run, who fought in them, and what a day in the arena actually felt like for the men below. Please note: this tour includes access to the arena floor only and does not visit the upper tiers of the Colosseum.
"The wooden floor is reconstructed. Look down through the gaps and you can see the tunnels and cages the gladiators came up through."
Francesca,

"Two hours is enough to see the three biggest sites in ancient Rome. You just need the right route."
